Liszt Tarantella technically wise is about the same difficulty as his Hungarian Rhapsody(according to most people), musically I feel it's a lot harder(or more intimidating) to play in front of a full audience then the B minor ballade. It's easy to make mistakes or skip runs with the Tarantella. Ballade in B minor on the other hand, is a lot more musical. Not saying that it's easy, but easier than the Tarantella. And to someone whose assigned a student this before, it honestly sounds better and is a lot easier to memorize.
Hope this helps :)

I believe the B minor ballade is easier overall.

i think the tarantella is much more difficult to play in public and there is much more music to read. The tarantella must be played at a really fast pace so i think on a scale 1 at 10 the tarantella would be a 8.5 and the ballade a 7.5
