Theme and Variations on Super Mario RPG: Beware of the Forest Mushrooms

Here is an original theme and variations that I wrote on a theme from the game "Super Mario RPG".
Instead of recording it myself, I produced it with Musescore (link for the file below for those interested). It was a fun process inputting the different inputs for each note, made a lot more aware on how to produce different dynamic landscapes on the piano. For example, to achieve a piano dynamic you still have the strong beats around the mezzo forte range, but the notes in between is what creats the piano dynamic feel.

Pretty cool and creative! Made me feel some longing to compose again.

That's great to hear. I find composing theme and variations is a great way to get the creative process going, limitations do breed creativity.
