Liszt-Beethoven Symphony no 9
on: November 28, 2023, 04:46:37 PM
I’ve listened and looked at the sheet music of the “Ode to Joy” section of the transcription.
Either I’m naive or it doesn’t look horrifically different, it looks very hard but not downright impossible like people say.
Réminiscences de Don Juan looks more difficult for example, with those chromatic thirds at that tempo.
So could I get an explanation as to why it’s so hard?

Are people saying this particular part is hard or the symphony transcription as a whole?

The whole thing, but the Ode to Joy section in particular.
