Preludio I believe, but both are formidable for their length.

To me, the Liszt Transcendental etude 1 is more difficult than the Minute Waltz by Chopin. The first of Liszt’s Études d’exécution transcendante (Preludio) is just a prelude to the rest, for warming up the fingers. Hence all those arpeggios and fingerwork. You’d never play it by itself, unlike with Chopin’s Préludes - or waltzes.

I've only played Preludio (at 1/5 speed), but I'd say it's definitely more difficult than Chopin's minute waltz. As I always say, take my opinions with a grain of salt.

Strange instance here, as you might right away think that the TE 1 is harder than the Minute Waltz. I think TE 1 is more simple arpeggios and things that would be easy at a slow speed but the difficulty here is maintaining a good dexterity and playing super fast. Minute waltz is hard to sightread, but grows on you with time which is why some people overspeed it ridiculously much. So TE 1 is harder in the long run but Minute Waltz might be harder to sightread.

I haven’t played the minute waltz but for me the preludio fits surprisingly well under the hands and personally I think it’s easier than it sounds.
