Volodos. Why has he stopped recording?

No new recording in the past 5 years. Anybody know why? And no, I'm not saying he has to make recordings or anything like that. Just curious regarding why he stopped releasing recordings after that fabulous Schubert in 2019.

I have the exact same question!
Like you, I'm not saying he HAS to make records or anything like that. I'm just curious too! Has he taken an hiatus? Does he think he doesn't have much to "say" in terms of interpretation? Is he simply personally happier by not recording or not having to do so? He seems to be giving recitals regularly, so he doesn't seem to have retired from playing.
Whatever the answer, I really hope he is personally happy. He certainly has made my life happier with his recordings.

He probably shares Argerich’s aversion for studio work.
Fueling on the connection to an audience rather than the multiple takes and cold tinkering of technology to get a sound .
