Your fingers look a bit tense which, if my observation is correct, will hold you back. Do you have a teacher who can help you?

Thank you for watching and commenting.  I think it's party the recording - not always looking that tense, though I've heard that before, it's something to work on.  I've come across methods to relax, and apply them but old habits die hard.  I think I'm a fairly tense person, in general.  Regarding teachers, neither my high school nor college nor anyone afterward ever mentioned a concern about not relaxing.  It's really up to me to be disciplined about practicing relaxation techniques, I know what they are.

I mean, it depends on what you mean with relaxation techniques. If you mean practicing yoga away from the piano, but not actively working on staying aware and keeping non-playing fingers etc relaxed while you play, it might not help much.

Yes, I mean piano playing techniques.
You're focus on relaxation is definitely helping my practice routine - - thank you!

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31. Piano Street’s members are invited to watch the livestream. Read more
