search function

I wanted to search threads on a topic:  piano benches.  It seemed to only give me results for pieces, or articles that had been written - i.e. almost nothing.
I'm not sure that I ever searched for a topic before.  I do remember searching for a member's posts, and it gave me those posts.
Did the search function change?  Was there ever such a function?  Am I looking in the wrong place?

It seems strange that you got piano pieces when searching for benches!
The new search feature shows both forum topics, pieces, news and articles but you can use the tabs below the search form to filter out forum topics only. But when searching for "piano benches" I got mostly forum topics anyway:

You can also search using the legacy forum search feature which only shows forum posts matching your search term:
