ATCL Repertoire
on: April 21, 2024, 02:15:12 PM
Hi everyone,
My 12 yrs old son finished his ABRSM grade 8 piano 2 yrs ago, and he is now planning for his ATCL recital with below pieces,
BWV816, French Suite No.5 by Bach
K332, Sonata No.12 in F Major, by Mozart
Fantaisie Impromptu OP66, by Chopin
Time needed for my son to play french suite no.5 is ard 10 mins, k332 takes another 15 mins, adding 5'30 for fantaisie impromptu.
He will need one last song last for 4-5 mins, any suggestion on the last piece he needed? Should it be a piece from contemporary period?
Great if someone can give us some suggestions, thanks you!

For Modern pieces, i could reccomend, copland cat and mouse, joeseph makholm trois expressions, khaccaturian tocatta ( dont think i spelt that right), These pieces are all diploma level however might not be metioned on the repetoire list. Ive only played the pieces by joeseph makholm, but i seen other children your sons age playing the other to pieces so it should be manageable. Good luck to the young man on his exam!
