Tips for Concerto Performance and etiquette
on: July 10, 2024, 02:05:49 PM
Hello all,
In a few months I will be performing a full concerto for the first time, is there any sort of etiquette or things I should in general know beforehand, like things to wear (female), or with regards to bowing and shaking hands? Thanks!

I don't think there are any hard rules, especially not in 2024.

I would talk to the conductor about shaking hands and stuff.

You could watch some concerto performances on youtube and see what they do.

bow slowly maybe- this is seen as showing respect to the crowd. Also just dont rush in concertos and focus on phrasing
