Hi guys! I've kind of been neglecting my technique lately I was wondering if there were any songs or quick little exercises I could practice to improve my technique? I finished my hanon book if you guys were gonna suggest that. Currently my warm up consists of chromatic scales (contrary, thirds, etc) and then a few scales. Pls do lmk!
I agree with brogers70 - - the Czerny op 821 "160 short technical studies" are a perfect next step after Hanon. They are short little pieces, so they're not quite as boring as straight exercises like Pischna's, or Dohnányi's or Brahms' or Liszt's.
Unless you mean S. 146, calling Liszt's Etudes "boring" is... certainly a choice.
Yes, I meant S.146 "Technical Studies".
Who would recommend Liszt concert etudes to a student who is looking for the next step after Hanon?
Similar to Czerny are the Burgmuller studies op 100. I never played them so can't say much about them, except that a lot of piano teachers use them.
