Fingering Rachmaninoff sonata 2 movement 2

Hello, I am wondering about what fingering I should use for the fast sextuplets in this section. I use 543212 at the minute but see others doing 545321. This is very uncomfortable for me and I can’t seem to get it up to speed. (Sorry for the blurry photo)

I use 154542 154542 but have never tried these alternatives.

I think a thumb on the beat is useful to maximise loudness and emphasise the beat with the LH? To me this passage should be thunderous - all the bells tolling together.

I am more concerned with what your back is doing - giving it all you've got?

You mean you can;t play it like this:

Some of Horowitz's notes are correct, some are even in the right order, but the overall impression is tremendous.

I use the same fingering you're already using and got it up to tempo -- it seems to work fine in the long term

If you go for the 545 fingering you must shift the wrist a bit to a left side to help the 5th I think. Staying in one position with wrist makes it impossible
