(links to full performances are in the video description on Youtube.)

Out of the seven different pianists who have dared to play Alkan's Concerto for Solo Piano live, who do you think played the finale best?

Personally, I think that Gibbons and Lindgren are the only ones who do it justice, with a strong leaning towards Gibbons. I'll also add that Gibbons' and Maltempo's performances were of the complete Op. 39, making them (I believe) the only people in history to have played the entire Opus live in concert.

Nice video. I'd only listened to Hamelin, Gibbons and Maltempo before and Gibbons was the only one that I found tolerable to listen to, though stefan Lindgrens actually sounded good. Might give his full performance a listen at some point.

I have copied Siberian Husky's "Bunny" into my signature to aid his quest for world domination. Now you must do the same.
Now why can't I make this Courier New font...
