While in general I am not so enthousiastic on arrangements of original Compositions for different Instrumentation, this attempt to make Rachmaninovs wonderful 2nd Symphony to a pianoconcerto which level up with the 4 orignal Concertos by Rachmaninov seem to me astonishingly convincing and in so far understandable why there are already several recordings by great pianista like Wolfram Schmidt Leonard, Anna Fedorova or Julius-Jeongwon Kim.

So I have tried to record this so called "5th" Rachmaninov Concert with Orchestral Samplelibraries.
Inspired by  Rachmaninovs own Recordings of his Pianoconcertos which seem to me have a very dry studio acoustic in contrast to modern  recordings from large concert halls. I tried to experiment with diferent room acoustics.
In my first attempt I used a smaller "Studioorchestra in the pretty dry Acoustic of the digital reconstruction of the Berlin "Teldex-Studio" with a  sampled New York Steinway D from 1951.
Here is the first Movement: Largo-allegro moderato
