"Oh Christmas Tree" free piano arrangement

I’ve arranged ‘Oh Christmas Tree’ for solo piano using jazzy chords and my 2+2 chord-arranging method.
 In 2+2 chord arranging, the left hand anchors the harmony, typically playing root and 7th, root and 3rd, or root and 5th intervals on tonic chords. The right hand uses its thumb to complete the chord (with the 3rd or 7th), while the remaining fingers carry the melody above.
2+2 voicings are hand-friendly, balanced, and versatile. The left-hand notes can stand alone as a complete accompaniment, while the right hand adds fills or improvisation. With regular practice, the 2+2 system helps pianists move from guessing at chords to playing confident, expressive harmony in just a few weeks.

Isn't 'Oh Christmas tree' meant to be in 3/4?

I hate it when arrangements change the time signature. It's like if someone did Fur Elise in 4/8, instead of 3/8... it would ruin it.

Nice arrangement, thanks for sharing.

On the meter issue, I also associate the tune with 3/4, but I was surprised how easily it sits in either. Sometimes a meter change opens things up, sometimes not. Here, 4/4 works fine with me since the melody still breathes naturally.

In a classical context, I agree. To me that would be about as inappropriate as adding a 6th and 9th to the opening of the Pathétique. But in jazz that kind of creativity is part of the style.

try singing it, you won't be able to breathe. Fine as a jazz piece for solo piano, but not to accompany singers.
