multi movement works
on: March 04, 2005, 02:42:19 PM
So, I am going to start a concerto soon. So, the question is do you learn one movement at a time or do you learn all simultaneously? if at the same time how do you divide up your time among the movements. Thanks

personally, i prefer working from begining to end, but meanwhile of course i can't stay away from reading the concert through at least 2-3 times in a week
just one piece of advice: when you read through, play the orchestra interventions (it'll help you both with learning what you have to hear, and with getting an overall image).
best luck
