I have recently bought a Naxos CD with a selection of "Songs without words" by the hungarian pianist Peter Nagy.

I beleive he does a pretty decent job, and the selected pieces are really beautiful.

So, if you are looking for a not expensive recording, i recommend you this one.

PD: If you want the entire collection of SWW, it is also available by the same pianist (in 2 Cds i believe).

I think I have Baremboim playing the whole lot.

But I do not recommend that you try to listen to all of them before choosing one.  I mean, they're nice pieces, but listening to them all will tire your ears and your brain... I'd suggest you listen to a few, and play one you quite like.

My personal faves are "Restlessness" and all 4 gondola/boat songs.

op.67 no.2 and op.19 no.1

the op.67 no.2  is more difficult.

One of the most beautiful (and easiest) is the Op. 62 nº1

I've only played op 102 no 4. I have most of the SWW in sheet music, but honestly I haven't cared about learning it - most of them sound boring to me. Perhaps I need to hear a good recording, though. The op 102 no 4 is nice, not hard at all. I only learned it because I had to, though..
