Didn't see it. I rarely watch past Jay's monologue. Only if someone interesting is on. ;)

Someone on the forum had mentioned it, but I wasn't enthusiastic enought about it to stay up late!

He played an improvisational rendition of Liszt's HR #2, throwing in bits of Horowitz's transcription occasionally.  A truly grade C performance, with countless botched notes and a few pauses, but it definitely wowed the uneducated crowd.

Yes.  It's definitely understandable that he's nervous.  With the reputation he's starting to get, he'd be well advised to get his "act" together or he's gonna be playing Holiday Inns with Murph and the Magic Tones!

Lang Lang reaches the common man's heart. This is something that the elitist critic simply cannot relate to or understand.

If the colony of ants that are the elitist critics manage to topple him, it will be a sad day for humanity.

If it is possible for music to 'reach the heart' then surely a more musical, less histrionic, performance would do so far more effectively?

Could you define "the common man" without yourself falling foul to élitism?

And what exactly do you mean by "reaches the... heart"?  This sounds like quite a subjective experience to me, so I assume that you place yourself along with 'the common man' and vouch for them.  Does Lang Lang touch your heart?

I speak not only of his musicality, but his life story, the way he performs.

It's clear the common man piano-listener is quite enamored with Lang Lang given his popularity. In fact, his popularity may be gaining BECAUSE of his elitist critics' incessant bickering.

If his "life story" affects anyone just as much as his musicality, surely this is a sign of how useful it is for advertising!?

I would also appreciate it if you'd define what you mean by "the common man"!

I won't give a single cent for Lang Lang's life story if he continues to be so aggressive.

Yundi is ill now. Concerts in Europe have been cancelled. I hope there is nothing serious about his illness. He has always worried about his health for the past few years. I worry for his safety.

Yundi is a great pianist, and will make a great and successfull career. Maybe Lang Lang's music is not so musical, but it's filled with emotions! Not emotions like dramatic and the ability to make you cry, but with thrilling fillings like adrenaline and great hapiness. He has a huge charisma. And a huge technique  ;D I agree he's not musical, but he still is great ! Like the rock star of the classical music world  ;D

Yes, I used “watch your mouth” as my new name after I was banned by that site dedicated to Li Yundi( I entered that site again by other means). The reason why I went in again with a nasty name is because someone wrote: “Yundi is lyng”. I couldn’t understand why some of these people still want to attack a sick Li Yundi. Aother person who names himself “Yuni” even implied that Li Yundi cancelled concerts in Europe because of distraction by girls in Hong Kong.

I explained in my posts that Yuni is wrong in making that accusations. The most strongly worded part is when I wrote that if Yuni thinks that he is able to mislead the public with his absurd  accusation, he has a serious problem with his intelligence and that he needs help. I even wrote that I felt like vomiting by Yuni’s wild accusation. I don’t consider these words  too strongly worded. But seven of my posts were deleted and only two are left,  why? Is it because they don’t like the part about Yundi’s illness in Hanover two years ago? I didn’t make up any story. All I wrote is what Li Yundi had told some repoters and I even gave the website address of that piece of news.

Usually these people pretended to be Yundi’s supporters by dropping posts about Yundi, but most of the posts contained either praises for Lang Lang or news about Lang Lang. Of course, they will attack Li Yundi when they felt that the chance has arrived. One of them even name himself “Yundi’s real supporter”. Lol.

Mar 15, 05 - 6:28 PM  Yundi is sick and has cancelled concerts in munich

I reserved ticket for Yundi Li's concert in Landshut,
however, I got informed that he is sick and will cancel the performance.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Actually I am still puzzling about Li Yundi's illness because his father had just spoken with a reporter a few days ago but he didn't mention anything about Yundi being ill. I learnt about Yundi's illness from the post dropped on 14th March and another one above. I hope this is just a hoax.

Why so shock about it? These three websites dedicated to Yundi are not controlled by Yundi’s fans. Some people made use of Yundi's name to promote other pianists, got it?

Any news about Yundi’s cancellations of performances for this month in Europe? Is the news true? There are sometimes plenty of tricks in this world.

Even? They?

"They" are fans of Lang Lang.  All fans of Lang lang always feel that I  have destroyed their clever plans. I had wanted to quit internet long ago but somehow I worry about other pianists.

Won't it be more convincing to show the link instead of nonsense like: distinctly recall that you did?

Have you read that Liszt had a very good agent who knew how to manipulate the media? He employed women to throw flowers at the feet of Liszt and that had  truly created the kind of sensation for a long time. I don't mind really because Liszt was a good pianist after all.

One more post of mine has been deleted at that site dedicated to Yundi. So, I have only one post left there. I think they are going to delete the only one left  tomorrow. So, you are only allowed to smear Li Yundi there, but no one should defend him earnestly. Sometimes one of them will  pretend to defend Yundi in a negligible way just to show that they are fair. Lol. They are all very poor actors and actress.
