Liszt Hung. Rhapsody No 2 Cadenza Rachmaninoff
on: March 13, 2005, 08:44:17 PM
Just heard Rachmaninoff's cadenza to Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No 2 and was totally blown away.
Anyone know where I can get the music to it?

I've got the PDF sheet music of Rach's cadenza for this piece. When I get home I'll e-mail it to you.

I would really appreciate it if someone could email me this aswell.  I learned this piece last summer and was hoping to get my hands on this cadenza.  Thanks.

Ok, I've sent it to Paolo. Enjoy! I'm not sure where I found this PDF, but it was online for free, so keep hunting, or just ask Paolo to forward it to you.

I actually wrote my own short little cadenza for that piece...you know the fast run in the Lassan, before the return to the main theme (it's all a D-flat arpeggio with an E-flat stuck in there, I think)?  I play that as the cadenza, except I go down a couple extra octaves to the low D-flat.

I'm Racmaninoff's is incredible, though.  But if anyone was looking for something different, there's my suggestion.
