Hello everybody. I have recently experienced with a problem with the keys of my piano. Some of the black keys, after you hitted, won't jump back. Has anyone ever experienced with this? Thank you. Suggestions would be very appretiated.

Is it a grand or an unpright, old or new? Are you in a dry or damp climate?

Is your piano made in Korea? I have a Young Chang grand that does this periodically. My technician told me that Korean pianos especially of the older vintage are notorious for this problem. It's something to do with the wood used in the action expanding in weather changes (he explained the technical aspect of it but I forgot the exact explanation). Anyhow, the permanent fix suggested was for him to "shave" the wooden part down. The quick fix is this special lubricant (the name is a long chemical name stating with fluoro someting or other) he sprays on the part which usually does the trick but needs to be applied periodically.
Mind you, my YC is about 15 years old so the newer Korean grands might be better in this respect. When it happens, it annoys the heck out of me...
Good luck!

Had this problem. The pins in my piano were copper with chromium plating. Some of the pins began to delaminate. Still under warranty so the dealer paid for the repair. Technician worked for two days.
This has the potential to be an expensive repair.
If you just fix the sticking keys, it is not uncommon that six months later, still other keys start to stick.
Good luck
