Begginner need advice
on: March 21, 2005, 12:54:05 AM
Hi, im 18 years old and recently my mom bought an mini grand piano, I want to justify the money she spent on it by learning some classical pieces to play for the family and for myself. I have only played simple things so far, a mussette by bach, the first part to fur elise,  and some other simple little pieces from  a begginners book.

For some reason I thought that qualified me to jump into chopin's minute waltz and I have been learning that for a about a week. The problem is that after the first couple of days my progress started slowing, and I found myself repeating the first parts over and over trying as hard as I could to get them up to the speed of the recording I was using as a reference. It's become obvious to me my hands just aren't quick\loose enough yet for this piece.

I would like to know what are some good pieces for me start with. I dont want mind numbingly easy but something that is a little challenging for a begginner but not impossible.

thank you in advance, hoping you respond
