Schubert Fünf Klavierstücke
on: March 27, 2005, 10:12:00 PM
Hi,

If anybody has the sheet music and/or a recording of Schubert's Sonata in E (Fünf Klavierstücke) D459, i would be extremely grateful to receive - i cannot find it anywhere in shops or on the net. Post me with your e-mail address or something and i'll get it touch.

Thanks.

Here is something I just discovered...  There is a guy on ebay who sells CDs with all of a certain composer's piano music on it.  I just bought one with ALL Schubert piano music, including 4 hand works.  I'm not sure how this will work yet - I think if I were to really work on something I would buy a better copy, but it's a great reference, and easy - you just print out what you want!  Of course, now I have all these loose pages flying all over my piano.  I'll have to tame them soon.  Oh, I paid under $10.00 for the CD.

Yes, these CDs are good for reference, but not for much more, I'm afraid. They are generally poorly edited (at least I haven't seen any that were any good. Perhaps your's is better). Nothing beats a good edition prepared by a knowledgeable person. One has to pay for that person's expertise. That's why normal editions are so expensive. Of course, not all of those are worth their money either.
