Has anyone heard of this contemporary composer?  IMy teacher says she has one picked out for me, but I can't find out any info on this guy. Is anyone familiar with his writing style, or even played any of his pieces?  (I'm hoping some of it's difficult, to fit in with my other rep.)  Thanks a ton guys,

ErnstToch (1887 - 1964) was born in Vienna, but emigrated to the U.S., where he became a film composer in Hollywood. Andre Previn studied with him. Most of his piano pieces have simple textures and are mostly in two voices. Usually there are no key signatures (so sight-reading is going to be a joy with all those accidentals), and changes of meter are common. There are pieces of his for all levels – some very simple for total beginners (e.g. Reflections op. 86) and some quite advanced (e.g., the very nice “The Juggler” from Burlesques, op. 31)

Best wishes,
Bernhard.
