This week was long too, but it wasn't too bad... Monday and Tuseday seemed like a whole week cause I had so many things but then on Wednesday we had a national holiday and yesterday and today I didn't have almost anything so it was cool!  8) but... I still didn't have time to do everything I wanted to!  ::) because I am thinking about things really a lot now and so... I just think and think and talk to myself and imagine things and then I see it's too late to do the things I want or should do!!  ::) but oh well it's good to think!!  :P

And oh I almost forgot to say again!!! My dear piano and me had a 2 year anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)  :-*  :-*  :-*  8)  :P

Yesterday I got smacked in the head for sleeping in my maths class. Can you believe that? Yes, I deserve punishment but not something that severe, although it was only a moderate smack. I thought the teacher was a decent person until she did that. I guess that shows the violence she is capable of if she is infuriated even further.

Nice.  Can't say I've experienced anything like that in school, but that reminds me of the HS math teacher my Dad had in the early 70s, but he'd be the complete opposite of yours since it was near impossible to ever get his attention.

After a 5 or 10 minute lesson, he would always assigned a book lesson and go back to his desk, sit, smoke and read a newspaper for the remainder of the class.

One time, another student made a paper airplane, lit it on fire, and threw it toward the instructor and landed on his desk.  He folded down the paper to look, cigarette in mouth, then casually rolled it up and whacked the paper plane 2 or 3 times putting out the flame, the whole time not looking up at the students.  He then unfolded the newspaper, leaned back in his chair proceeded to read as if nothing happened.

How's that for a laissez-faire educator!

Oh, I meant that girl who is the image for a Piano Street gift card looks a bit like my piano teacher. Well, my teacher wears glasses and has darker hair, but I think it's because of the way you smile and maybe a haircut.

What gift card?

I'm wondering what they do with the hotel room Whitney Houston died in.  Or when anyone dies in a hotel room.  If they're not famous, they probably just keep using it and don't say anything.  But if it's something famous, people will know they died in that room.  Does the hotel keep using it?

What's weighing heavily on my mind?  Just met a guy at Starbucks today and committed myself to working again!  Now I'm stressed!  Not sure I want to do this, but I have to maintain my independence in life as I made a promise to myself.  Between the piano and the court reporting machine, it's a lot of my day!  I love them both!

:o  :o  :o What??? That was something I said once!!! But I don't have so much time to find it now!! I'm not sure exactly when it was, but it was when there was this thing at piano street where you could get a gift card for gold membership I guess... And I thought my teacher looked kind of like that!!! I didn't say it exactly like "ryanbrian"  (I hope I said it with a little less mistakes and a little more understandably) but that is what I was talking about!!! And now it doesn't even show that gift card thing anymore!!!!!!!!!!! that's why you don't know what gift card he's talking about Bob!
AND... this is the second thing that was A LOT like what i SAID ONCE!!!!!!!!!! The other one is in how are you doing now thread I think.... what is this a new kind of spam??? where you take posts from other people and change them a little and make them a little more confused and post it????  :o don't get it!

Really you remember that?! Cool!!  8)  :P  :) Thanks!

On my mind now are a few things... one of them of course is that it annoys me that I can't find those two posts I once posted and now someone kind of coppied!
the second thing is about piano, and that is that I'm having really a lot of problems with the second movement of Sonatina I'm learning... my teacher says EVERY TIME well we still have A LOT of work with this one!!!!! and the problem is that I don't have a lot of time anymore because soon I will have to start learning a new Sonatina for my exam!!!! And it seems like I'm getting better when I practice but then at piano lessons I just do sooo many things wrong!!! And my left hand gets confused  :-\ I'm not very good at fast pieces!!!! and the second really difficult one is Etude which is 3 against 2... and it's really difficult!!  ::) oh and I did practice this week too but I didn't go on Compound time cause I didn't have enough time to do that so now I'm thinking if I should count that too or not... probably I won't...

They will renumber the rooms on that floor and leave that number out.

I tend to stay at the same hotels and try to get the same room or floor if I like it. Now and then I encounter that rooms have been renumbered on my floor. People don't tend to die when they are on the road unless something really unexpected hits them.

Don't forget that if you are taken to a hospital there is a pretty good chance someone died in the very bed they place you!

Stay well everybody...

I watched all of Adam Curtis' major documentaries; All watched over by machines of loving grace, what happened to our vision of freedom (the trap) and the power of nightmares.
Afterwards i reflected on them for some time and actually committed a great deal of time and energy towards what he discussed and begun an almost destructive spiral of thought.
For those that haven't seen the documentaries (nine hours of information BTW); in summary they discuss the overpowering effect of governments and how we are treated by them, including the effect of human thought on others and how we have become so much like the technology we praise in the west.
Now, it struck a chord (or tonic triad??!! :P) with me as i believe i am not only a nihillist; believing that life has no inherent or earned value save what i give to myself, but also that we have become so heavily dependent on our technology that we have no other choice to grasp it close to our chest and never let it go, and i also believe that although any and all governments are corrupt as all hell- but it is entirely necessary.

 So i pose a question:
"If life has no value, our technology is now governing a major and passionate portion of our lives and that we are deliberately coerced by the very democracies we voted for; Is there no other alternative to life other than ultimate bliss?"

What are your opinions on this matter. Keep in mind that a VERY large portion is not included as it would be too laboring to read.

I don't know how to delete a file from my computer... it's a video, but it opened it with quickTime, but I don't have the new one so it wouldn't open the video anyway... and then I wanted to delete the video and it wouldn't delete it, it says that it's not possible to delete it cause another person or progam is using it... which of course is not true but... I guess it just thinks that... and i restarted the computer but it still says the same thing...  :-\ anyone knows what to do?

Well this happened cause I wanted to make videos from my Christmas recital work... cause they didn't want to work on my mum's computer (there was no sound and the video was slowed down even though she installed something that was supposed to work)... and I thought that there's something wrong with the videos but then I sent one (the smallest one which is 40MB, others are all over 100 and one, the one where I play, is almost 2 GB!!!  :o ) so my friend has a Mac and the video worked fine on her computer so i knew that there was nothing wrong with the videos, so today I coppied one to my computer, cause I have QuickTime, but I don't have the new one (7 or something) so it didn't want to work and then didn't want to delete it either, but when i wanted to download that QuikTime 7 I saw it needed too much space and memory for my computer so I went to install it to my mum's computer... well my mum was worried... but then it finally worked!!!!!!  :P  8) So I watched and listened my Christmas recital for the first time! well... like I said I was making A LOT of mistakes  ::) but my left hand was a lot more quiet than the right one  :P maybe I'll try recording with a digital camera from my mum's computer (cause there's nothing else I could do cause the files are too big to convert and Movie maker doesn't recognize them  ::) )... but probably the qualitly will be really bad so I don't know... we'll see...  :)  :P

Well Littletune, welcome to the club! I bought one of those HD "flip video" cameras.  The files are huge! I can only work with them on one computer and even there a simple trim takes forever. My computer won't play the files in HD! To view them, I need to connect the camera using a special HDMI cable to my TV. If I want to edit and view I will need to get another very powerful computer with HDMI output.

The "nice" thing about an evolving technology is that the computer you have will never be powerful enough!

Yes it's annoying that it's sooo difficult to watch a video... I mean at least they should say what kind of programs and computers you need if you want to watch the videos! And I don't even know why the files have to be so huge... I mean you can't really do anything with files like that!!! well maybe if you have professional programs and computers.... but most people don't have that so...  ::) Oh well...  :)

Oh I almost forgot: we now know the date of when we started our toy making business!  ::) yes our dear downstairs neighbour sent us another letter today, she said that it will be 3 years in a week since we started making this horrible unbearable noise all days and nights (you know the drilling and hammering and all that).  ::) She said it started on March 1st 2009! You think we should celebrate or something? And send her some cake and maybe a toy?  :-\ Even though she said she reported us to I don't know who again...  ::) yes really interesting.  ::) specially cause we don't know anything about it! and we don't hear any drilling from anywhere else either...

If you knew a lawyer (so it's free) you could have them send a letter to those people.  At some point it's harassment.  And you have to wonder about their mental state if they just don't get it after a while.  Where are the hammer and drill sounds?  Only in their mind.  They could be nuts which could be dangerous.

If you have a home owner's association or landlord you could complain to them.

Or just tell them you're (your parents) are thinking about going to a lawyer if they keep harassing you about it.

That is the worst case of tinnitus I know. (www.ata.org) Imagine living every day with those sounds in your head. It has obviously driven her nuts.

A young woman we know who had just a mild case went completely crazy and was hospitalized.  And a young guy in England killed himself three months after going to a rock concert and couldn't stop the loud ringing in his ears.

We suggest your family contact Social Services for the Elderly and have them evaluate her. She has now advanced to the level of being a danger to her fellow residents. If she forgets she left something on the stove she could burn the whole complex down.

You think she has Tinnitus? Well the policeman talked to her and told her if she doesn't stop banging and if only one more person complains about it she would have to pay for disturbing people. But I think that only made her even more angry...  :-\ My mum said that maybe they should try to find her daughter and ask her if she knows what's wrong with her mother... I don't know...  :-\

Oh Bob... well my mum's sister was a lawyer... but she died about 4 years ago  :( so... I don't know if we know anyone else... well I think my mum had a friend who become a lawyer too but they haven't seen each other for a long time...  Yes we have something like a home owner's association, and the crazy neighbour complained to them like a million times already about us, so... they're pretty tired of it already and don't know what to do. Oh I guess we'll see... although I am a little scared!
Well she wrote in the letter that it's "in the process" or something like that (I mean about our "making unbearable noise") so we don't know what she did probably she complained about it to someone else again... and my parents say well whoever she complained to should come and see and they'll see we're not doing anything.

If she hasn't stopped by now she probably won't.

I would just report her again for making noise banging on the walls and speed things up with the police.  It sounds like it's going that way anyway.  If she's nuts she won't really realize the difference.

Or if you really wanted to, start documenting it.  Video record when she's banging so there's evidence.  Make a list of the dates and times.  That would be a little more solid for convincing someone she's being a nuisance.

Well one thing is for sure, she is hearing something and the sound is not coming from outside her apartment so... she is making it up. Whether she hears it or think she hears it is not important. She is disconnected from reality and that is important.

Most countries including yours have social services set up for old folks who have lost their minds. This poor old lady needs intervention.

Yes you're right. It looks like she's not home now... there are no lights on at all in her apartment... and everything is quiet. Oh but she's not really that old yet. She's like about my mum's age, I think about 50 or something... but I guess some people get old really soon!  :-\

It can happen to anyone at any age. Life can take turns we never would expect.  At your young age it may seem impossible for something like this to happen.

The most important thing for you to remember is to get as much out of every moment you can. You will need a lot of treasures in your bank of memories to last the 100+ years you might live.

Just thinking...

I recently heard my voice on a recording I made by mistake.  Strange.  I didn't recognize my own voice.  I found the accidental recording a few days later.  I know I said the words but I wouldn't have thought it was me otherwise.

And copyright.  The whole point was to encourage creativity and new works.  But it's really doing the opposite when extend the length of copyright.  There's some point they've passed where it's just people trying to make more money off something that wasn't their creation.  Creativity held in check.

so random stange thoughts here but i was wondering, if acne on the back is slang termed 'backne' and on the butt is affectionately referred to as 'buttne' what if you get a pimple or two on your knee cap? is it called kneene (pronounced "nee-nee")? i know it's silly and sorta krass but for somereason i found the question really funny when it popped (whoops funny pun not intended) in my head.

sorry. that is all.

Well I think I really need to learn to play that Bach's prelude without the sheet music!  Because if I don't memorize it then I just won't be able to play it at all! Yesterday I was making mistakes all the time at my piano lesson even though I was practicing it for 44 minutes the day before!  ::) And I'm still playing it hands separate!!!  :o for two months already!!! So my teacher said if I can't learn it till Monday we will leave it for now and start with something else. Which would be cool, except it's kind of stupid that I spent 2 months learning it already!  ::) Well I will try to memorize it... and usually I don't have to try to memorize pieces, it just happens after a few times... I don't even know how and when, I just notice that I don't need sheet music anymore... But with this... it just doesn't happen!  ::) It just doesn't seem all that logical. I mean I'm sure it is logical but it's not logical to my fingers I guess  :-\ So I will have to try to memorize it! I will see if I can do it. Because there is just no way I could play it right if I had to look at the notes! If I look at the notes my fingers keep hitting wrong keys, if I look at my fingers I get lost and can't find where I am, cause it all looks kinda the same!!! and besides all that my teacher wants me to play with metronome! which only makes me even more nervous and I have to think about the rhythm too which I can't cause I need to think about the right notes so much!!!  ::) so I'll see what I can do till Monday...  :P

Can you play through each hand separately?  If that's down somewhat well enough, I would start putting the hands together, even if it's at a really slow tempo.  Each hand has to have its part down, but they won't work together unless you practice them.

And it can take a little time for the mind to adjust.  It gets easier after a while. The different voices all moving at the same time make it tougher, I think at least.

And it's Baroque so the fingerings don't always fit the hand well.

Which piece is it?  On some of them they've got different voices but you can keep shifting your attention from one hand to the other.

Thanks Bob!  :) No that's the problem. I can't play it hands separately. I mean at least not without mistakes or without stopping. I kind of memorized it now but I still forget sometimes... so I don't know if this is going to work.  :-\ oh well I tried. It's Little prelude BWV 924 (from 12 Little preludes). Oh I don't know... I mean I guess I could learn it if I still had a month or something but I don't... so I guess we'll just have to leave it for now, cause I don't think I learned it well enough yet, and tomorrow I have my piano lesson so...  :-\ oh well  ::)  :P

Ah, I see.

It's more harmonic than what I was thinking.
Try hands together but feel the 8th note as the beat.
Figure out what the chords are, or at least something so you can think of them in group, esp for the RH.

&feature=related

And I'd really emphasize to myself feeling the downbeat on every beat.  I listened to a few youtube videos and it's easy to start hearing the right hand's first note as being the downbeat, at least to me.  That just throws me off completely.  I can hear 1 123, 1 123, 1 123 instead of 1234 1234, counting every 16th note with numbers.    You could speak, say "Mm" on each beat to emphasize it.  Or slap the left hand on your knee and play the right hand alone.

I was watching some George Carlin the other day, and I realized, there are some pretty USELESS phrases/words/requests in the English Dictionary!  Not all of them are completely useless, but people use them when not necessary. Here are a few:

Preheated oven  There's only two states an oven can possibly exist in!  Heated or unheated!
prerecorded  Obviously it was recorded before hand!  When else are you gonna record it?  AFTERWARDS?!
The safety lecture on air planes!  I don't know the intricate workings of a SEAT BELT!
Immediate seating area  SEAT!!!
Personal belongings  What else kind of belongings are there?!  Public belongings?!  You think that I could have brought a Water fountain that I stole from the park on the plane?!
boarding PROCESS
Activity or event after a noun or adjective is used.  "Tomorrow morning, we will be experiencing some shower activity"
Situation  "Police have responded to an emergency situation!"  Obviously it's a situation!  EVERYTHING is a situation!
preboarding
When you're getting off a plane, they ask you to observe the no-smoking sign until you're well inside the terminal which is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to do even if you're right outside the plane!
'please look for the items you MIGHT HAVE brought on board'.  I might have brought my piano, but I didn't!  I'm gonna look for the stuff that I DID BRING ON BOARD!  That would definitely increase the likely hood of myself finding something wouldn't you say?

I copied a lot of this stuff from George Carlin but this is too funny!

Thanks again Bob! :) Well at my piano lesson I was still making mistakes of course but my teacher said it was better and that I can start learning it hands together... she said some things will maybe even be easier that way. :) so we'll see how that will go.  :P
That second video was funny when that guy made a mistake at the end  :P and he made a really funny face!  ;D  :P

You can slow up or you can slow down, doesn't matter which one.  There are some other words or word combinations like that.  Recurring or reoccurring.
