I is giving a small recital tomorrow to some friends and i is crappin meself.

Thal

I am playing part of a Sonata by Woelfl and a nocturne by Herz.

Only about 15 minutes worth.

That's no recital, that's an ancore!

Just don't make it crap, old chap. And if all goes blank you could always resort to 4'33"!

In the long run, any words about music are less important than the music. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not worth talking to (Shostakovich)

What is an ancore??

Is this a strange Dutch expression that i am unaware of ;D

Anyway, i might add on the Friedman-Gartner - Wiener Tanz no 2. Just needs a lill bit more polish.

I love salad. I'm a salad freak. I like this virtual salad garden, some salads are smiling, some are cool, some are a bit scared, I hope they will find salad companions who may understand them...

I detest salad. It is rabbit food and has no taste. Also, you can eat 3 tons of it and still feel hungry.

Give me a big Thalburger any day.

I love Dezső Ránki, Konstantin Lifschitz, Haydn's sonatas, and Bach's English Suites. Adding to that, I love so many other things, and these are a few of my favorite things and people I'm thankful for today.

Can it be true that Ránki has only been mentioned thrice in the history of this forum? Can it be true that Lifschitz has only been mentioned once? And simply to state that a 16 year old Lifschitz's Goldbergs were found by the poster more enjoyable than Rosalyn Tureck's (almost mentioned to spite)? Well, Lifschitz has twice the life experience now and is producing such refreshing, beautiful, and thought provoking interpretations of whatever he plays.

That's what's on my mind right now.

(What a wonderful genius Haydn was!)  :)

Dezső Ránki now mentioned the fifth time then, I've heard him play the last 3 Beethoven Sonatas in Zürich a few years ago (well, rather decades :-\ ) it was fantastic :)

It seems like a lot of pianists these days don't like Haydn. Almost every one of them I ask think it is boring.

Well, quite frankly, a lot of pianists need to give him another look, and having just crossed the bicentennial of his death, when's a better time? I know Mozart is delightful, but Haydn is in so many indescribable ways even more fulfilling. In fact I would say in music history, there's hardly a composer as fulfilling as Franz Joseph Haydn.

(Bob thinks you plant lettuce, not salad.  Although it is possible... but probably won't grow anything.)

Although you could be planting everything that goes into a salad, but... it's still not planting a salad.

Row 7 is just happy to be there.
Row 8 just walked in with the rush tickets.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that I don't want to make music, I want to be music.

I wish I could die and turn into Mahler's 9th, or Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, or Bach's Komm, süßer Tod!; that's my idea of Heaven.

Mahler's 9th, or Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, or Bach's Komm, süßer Tod!; that's my idea of Heaven.

By the way, irove, I listened to the first movement of Mahler's 9th, then Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, and then Bach's "Come Sweet Death"  which are all very fine music.   Myfavorite is the one by Bach, quite mysterious and peaceful.   :)    (*.*)

My mind of void of feelings.  And I wonder what are *feelings?*  anyway.  Just a baggage that weighs me down.  I am going to do what is necessary to survive.  When there is no love to give, I  may as well carry on as usual.  Life to me will go on  irregardless of what I go through.  And nobody is not gonna rain on my parade.... 8)

There's a lot on my mind at the moment:

some confusion as to why things occur that I have no control of.....
some wondering how things turn out the way they are......
some saddness because things can never be the same like it used to be......
some depression about things I cannot change......
some thoughts that  wish would never enter my mind......

and right now, I just want to curl up in a corner and cry..........and cry..........

because no body cares...........truly cares.............

some confusion as to why things occur that I have no control of - Be more worried about things that occur that you do have control of
some wondering how things turn out the way they are - because they do
some saddness because things can never be the same like it used to be - life would be boring if things were always the same as they used to be
some depression about things I cannot change. - then change your own outlook
some thoughts that  wish would never enter my mind. - if i did half the things that came into my mind, i would be in prison

and right now, I just want to curl up in a corner and cry..........and cry - have a beer instead

because no body cares...........truly cares - I do

Dr Thal

I do know that things have to change.    ::)
I do know that things turn out the way they do.
I do know that there are days my outlook may not be as bright at times(sorry about that).   :P
I do know that thoughts are fleeting and that changes.
I do know that a good cry is good because it makes me feel that I am human afterall.   ;)
And thanks , Thal, for the advice, and that you do care.    :)

Have a nice day,

best wishes,

go12_3

So busy.  Not much on my mind.  Too much going on.  No brain space left to think.  Ugh....

I am pondering the purpose of friends

So far I think they enrich are lives (like music does) and if they are our friends we are probably there friends so we enrich there lives in return, thus the purpose of friends is similiar to that of music.

One might say "when we die they will not matter" but one could say this with anything. A theist would probably believe that when you die you would go to heaven (assuming you are not evil) and your friends would be in heaven (assuming your friends are not evil) so you would meet them there, so a theist would believe that they would matter when you die.
