Most overplayed song

These are the most overplayed pieces of classical music in the world. Us as classical musicians need to decide on one of them to be the king of overplayed pieces. Thank you!

They’re all so overplayed it doesn’t matter lol.

That’s like saying who’s richer Jeff bezos or Elon musk.  It doesn’t matter cause they both have the same quality of life lol

IMO it has to go to either Liszt - S. 141 no. 3 "La Campanella" or the Rachmaninoff transcription of Flight of the Bumblebee, because not only are they horrendously overplayed and low-quality but they also have much better versions of them out there.

Liszt - S. 140 no. 3 "La Campanella"

Liszt - S. 420 Grande Fantaisie de Bravoure sur La Clochette

Rimsky-Korsakov/Cziffra - Flight of the Bumblebee ;)

Some of them are low-quality enough that slandering them in this way seems fine to me.

How did Für Elise, out of all short pieces of music, get so popular anyway?

Uh… no. Maybe because it is catchy (kinda) and “easy” to play, or some YouTuber or TikToker made a how to play tutorial video and it went viral.

And, viola_guy, considering that I know you in person and that I wrote the opening message of this topic for you, I did not know how you actually type stuff on forums, but now I know…  :-\
