Opinions on Kawai UST-7
on: April 15, 2005, 06:39:29 PM
Hi -- Newbie here.

I'm looking to purchase a used upright piano in the hopes of starting my daughter in piano lessons soon.  I took lessons years ago, and would also like to return to lessons -- haven't touched the keys for over 15 years.

I found a private party selling a 1990 Kawai UST-7 for $2500.  I've been searching the web for info on the UST-7, but can't find much info or any comparisons.

Does anyone have any experience with and an opinion about the UST-7?

Thanks so much for your thoughts.

I don't know about that particular model but i really like Kawai pianos in general. I very nearly bought one last year. I think they are quite robust, well made instruments.

Although if yours is secondhand i'm afraid it's difficult to say. 1990 isn't too old though, as modern pianos are built to cope with modern things like central heating etc so it should stay in tune fairly well (depending on what condition it is in, how much it was used before etc).
