recommendations for light over piano

I'm finishing up a major remodelling project at my house and I have a new piano room (after cramming my 6' grand in a tiny room for 20 years!), and have come to the point of purchasing a pendant light for over the piano.  I'm having a tough time finding something suitable -- that is, something that lights the music stand and keyboard adequately without glare in my face. 

Just wondering if anyone has solved this problem before and could recommend something.

i don't know about pendant lights, but am really really happy with my recessed halogen lights in the kitchen.  now, if i put a dimmer on them, moved the piano into the kitchen, things would be just fine.

pendant lights would be sort of like chandaliers?  or, those little upside down buttercup lights you see in restaurants?  I like those too.  maybe three right above the music?

don't you wish you could (maybe you can) take the uplighting on most organ music stands and transfer it to the piano.  of course, every so often, my organ has a sort of electrical short and i feel on the verge of a major shocking as the lights go on and off and then finally short (turn off).  perhaps with the piano, if you practiced too long, the lighting would start burning the sheet music and everything would end up in flames (like invisible's piano in the fireplace).

I happen to sport a halo, and that generally solves all of my lighting issues!

Oo-I have recessed lighting in my living room! I got one bulb to point to the piano, so that's how I illuminate my music. I personally think it works better than any top-of-piano lamp, because that sometimes makes the music overbright, which makes me tired.

I'm not sure what a pendant light is also. I keep thinking of a lightbulb dangling from the ceiling on a golden chain surrounded by lots of little crystals that shine prisms all over the room, but that might not have been what you meant.

wonder how distracted one would be with a big round disco light, shining colors all around the room.  of course, it might affect the mood.

12v halogens mounted on the ceiling. 

Only problem is, my current dimmer causes hum, so I can't actually dim the lights.  The wall plates for the switches are brass with intricate designs, so I don't wana pop a plastic one on there.  Just have to find a dimmer that will fit in one of those narrow switch holes.
