ABRSM Exam
on: May 03, 2005, 09:11:42 PM
I had my exam (grade 4, piano) today and it went fine (ish) The sight reading was disastrous.
I checked the ABRSM website for info on the marking system and realised I should have read it before my exam. If I had I would have realised that I could have tried out little bits of the piece while I was studying it. I thought that had to be done silently. It would have made such a difference. Never mind. Anyway, having studied the marking system I've decided to give myself a score of 124/150.

I know you can play bits but i never did in grades 1- 8 or for diploma. I feel worse if i try it and know thy are listening. I should say i dont normally have a problem with sightreading though I tend to get the essence of the piece quite quickly its sometimes little awkward rhythmic things i need to watch which is why i ususally tap out odd bits either on key surface or on lap while they scribble!!!
