Are there Uprights with grand like actions?

The claim is that certain "studio" or "professional" uprights come close. I've had a Baldwin of that kind for a number of years, and it is far closer than any spinet I've ever played. Closer but, obviously, not identical. Repeated notes are often issues on uprights, and that's what I've been finding recently...which is why I'm starting to look at grands.

There is an upright action designed by Darrell Fandrich which works and feels like a grand action (it repeats as fast as a grand action). You can get several different pianos with this action. For information do a Google search for Fandrich & Sons pianos.

Some European piano builders have improved upright action designs. You might look at the Sauter or Seiler websites.
