I could easily go with anything mentioned above but at the moment my preferences are:

1.  The last five Beethoven sonatas
2.  The complete Chopin etudes
3.  All Rachmaninoff preludes
4.  Complete Liszt Years of Pilgrimage

(a pause; suspense)

5.  Fur Elise  ::)

Oops... I thought this thread was about sets of pieces.  I'll just go for the last five then.

Well, Liszt B minor
Schumann Fantasy
Hammer Klavier
Gaspard de la nuit
Beethoven's 4th

However, I really don't have the ability to play anything well.  Just... playing anything well would do fine, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon.  A brahms intermezzo, bach prelude/fugue, chopin etude......  but no, never played well

*makes angry face*

You need more than a piano, two hands and a brain to play music.  You also need hot sauce.

Here's a few more than five  ;)

Chopin: Etudes, g-minor Ballade, Barcarolle (LOVE this piece; why does nobody mention it?)
Beethoven: op. 109, 110, 111, 4th concerto
Bach: Goldbergs, Partitas, WTC
Ravel: Jeux d'Eau, Miroirs, Gaspard (esp. Ondine!), G-major concerto
Debussy: L'Isle Joyeux
Prokofiev: 7th sonata, 3rd concerto
Schumann: a-minor concerto, Carnaval
Brahms: op. 118

So many great pieces! Okay, I'll stop before I list the entire piano repertoire...  ;D

Fun question, but tough to decide!

1.  Chopin G minor Ballade (working on now for the 3rd time--maybe this time...!)
2.  Beethoven PC 4  (Have played, but never really conquered.)
3.  Debussy "Poissons D'Or" (Just looking at the score makes me tired)
4.  Bach Italian Concerto (have played, but I tend to poop out before quite getting to the end.)
5.  Mozart--anything.  OK, how about PC in D minor K466 ?

Is this 5 pieces you can personally play the best, or five pieces you wish you could play well..

If it's five I wish I could play well then:

Full Gaspard de la Nuit
Entire Chopin Etudes
Entire Chopin Preludes
Entire Etudes Transcendantales
Waldstein Sonata
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

At the moment, the following pieces come to mind.  Hard to limit it to five...

1) Rachmaninoff - 3rd Concerto
2) Liszt - Mazeppa
3) Chopin - Etude Op.25 No.11
4) Liszt - Sonata in B Minor
5) Chopin - Ballade in G Minor
6) Chopin - Prelude Op.28 No.16
7) Chopin - Etude Op.25 No.7
8) Liszt - La Campanella
9) Rachmaninoff - 2nd Concerto

Some of these aren't too far beyond my reach, and hopefully I'll get a chance to work on them in the next couple years.

1. Debussy "Poissons D'Or"
2. Gershwin - Rhapsody In Blue
3. Gershwin - Cuban Overture
4. Chopin - Revolutionary Etude
5. Au bord d’un sorce

Assuming the question was wat I would like to be able to play, not what I can play.

J.S. Bach Goldberg Variations
Liszt - Sonata in Bm
Liszt - Totentanz (with orchestra, otherwise don't bother)
Scriabin - Sonata No.10 (or 5 or 7 or 9 or 8, ack!)
Barber - Piano Sonata Op. 26

(the fifth one was a hard one, no Beethoven, no Medtner, no Bach/Busoni, no Ravel, no Ligeti, no Schoenberg)

(and some minor things, Like WTC fugue 5 and 6, Liszt Chasse Neige, Harmonies Du Soir and Vision etc)
