on: May 08, 2005, 12:59:13 AM
im looking for the most convincing recording in terms of musicalility, interepretation, and good sound quality.
By the way, which of the Brahms concerto(1,2) from Rubinstein's recordings are the most definitive?

PC 1 = Curzon / Szell (London Philharmonic Orchestra / Decca)
PC 2 =  Gilels / Jochum (Berliln Phil. Orch / DG)

Julius Katchen made the best recordings of these by far, though the Gilels and Richter recordings are extremely good.

I was totally remiss in not mentioning Katchen's fantastic performances, thanks.  Louis Kenter also plays a mean 2nd concerto.
