Fingering Help: 16th note run of chords
on: May 10, 2005, 03:33:06 AM
I would appreciate any suggestions on fingering for the run of 16th-note chords in the small passage I have posted below. I penciled the best fingerings I could come up with, but being self-taught I am wondering if there is a more efficient way.
Thanks!
Tony

Wow, that is an odd piece...
(I refrain from suggesting fingerings at the moment, as I am not at a piano and don't want to give misleading advice).

Actually, I was just lazy.
4 3 4 5 3 4 5 4 3
1 2 1 2 1 2 3 1 2
is what my hand likes best...

I think most people would like more :
4 3 4 5 3 4 5 3 4
1 2 1 2 1 2 3 1 2
Those chords are thirds, and I think it would be much more usefull to call them that way. In general we use the word "fast chords" for chords that have more than 2 notes. Thirds are chords, but we just prefer to refer to them as thirds. And when you have 4th, 5th, 3rds, 6th, all at the same time, we will use the term "double-note" more often. Just a suggestion of common language
