Some questions.
on: March 22, 2002, 01:44:53 AM
Hello all. I'm new to piano, I guess you could say that I am not even a student yet. All I have done is looked at some online tutorials and such and have pretty much only learned how to read very basic music. If someone with much greater experience and knowledge would be kind enough to answer me some questions I would be extremely grateful.
First of all, I would like to know how high past the lines of the treble clef can notes go?
Secondly to do with that, how low can notes go past the lines of the bass clef?
I've seen a staff of music and it had only B, C, and D in between the treble and bass clef, but I saw some sheet music on the internet with a larger gap that usual and notes going past at least 2 or 3 lines in between the treble and bass clef? Why is this different?
I'll probably have more questions later and thanks in advance.

You need a live teacher!! If you want to begin while you are looking for a teacher, purchase a box of music flash cards from a local music store and start memorizing note names and music symbols - that will give you a good jump start. I have seen beginners who have "taught themselves" and have taught themselves incorrectly! Unlearning is no fun for the teacher or the student. Good luck and stick with it!
