Calling amateurs in the northern VA/DC area
on: May 16, 2005, 03:10:44 PM
I would like to meet a few amateurs in my area (northern Arlington, VA) or close by (Washington DC). I need to get practise in playing in front of others and if I could find one or two others who have a similar need that would work well for all of us. Since my profession is pretty demanding, weekends would suit me best.
It would be best if we were of a roughly similar level. I would put myself at about grade 7 or 8 in the ABRSM/Trinity system (or grade 9/10 in the RCM/Royal Conservatory system). Sample pieces: Beethoven 10/1 & 14/1, Bach WTC I #21 in B
b
, Rachmaninov's Prelude Op. 3/2 in C#m, Chopin Polonaise Op. 40/2 in C#m, the easier Haydn sonatas, easier nocturnes & barcarolles by Faure, Grieg's lyric pieces, etc.
If you're interested, please contact me by responding to my email address.
Thank you.
Regards,
Peter
