 ;D ;D ;D ;D :o
You need more than a piano, two hands and a brain to play music.  You also need hot sauce.

wow, lot's more guys.  You know it's quite funny that, almost all pianists i know are female and yet here they're all male.  I guess us blokes are just losers with too much time on our hands.  While our female couterparts are out practicing we sit and post about practicing instead.  Those women out there that are on this forum should be ashamed you're letting down your sex, except those who've actually helped then you're just doing your feminine duty to make the world a better place and i congratulate you.

Maybe the question should be reworded to "What were you born as?"

Then again.. that doesn't leave room for the hermies.

Yeah me too, in real life (hehe strange way of wording it but anyway) i know more female musicians than male (unfortunately), as i would like to find a pianistic husband in a few years... :) I am actually being serious  ::)

More females do actually play piano, yet even so, there are not many well known female composers.
Ahh llamas......is there anything they can't do?

The fact that there are more male contributors to this poll, then female, must indicate females lack the strength and coordination to properly type and click!

Ditto.
I know more male musicians (including pianists) than female. And by far the highest proportion of gay men I know are those I met studying music at university. I wonder if it's coincidence or if there's something in it.

Well, no one said you couldn't vote twice, at different times of the day, did they?

I hope that this helps resolve your apparent dilemma...

Assuming that there actually are more male than female contributors to this poll, it seems to me that, if anything at all is indicated, it is that (a) a surprisingly large number of them would rather do anything than respond directly to the poll itself and (b) that females have the good sense not to bother with this!

ah... the confounding variables in this little test
Non confundar...

Hidden Variables...

...all these subliminal musical references, too - just to make matters potentially even more confusing...

As something of a sideshow to the principal thrust of this thread while people pause to think carefully about how best to answer it for themselves, let's stop and ask another little question about the representatives of one of those genders, as follows:

Which is the more patronising to say - "some of my best friends are women", or "some of my best women are friends"?

Best,

Alistair
