maybe its because not alot of people actually do listen outside of classical, or perhaps anything other than blues. (its blues right?   ;D)

well i thought its quite nice to listen to leisurely, but apart from that i can't say much. nice solo though.

Hi Silva,
I'd love to hear the clip but it wouldn't take me to the relevant page. Seemed to get stuck on download. I tried going to the basic URL, but couldn't find links to the clip from any pages there. Any advice?

Goose I will upload it here - hope it helps

No worries Nicko..... its all practice, read about it, watch clips www.bboyworld.com is a good source for video clips.... its all practice, no one can really teach you how to do it, but they can give you tips....

Oh man, this is great! Sounds like you and the audience had a blast. Took me back to my university days when I had a band called The Usual Suspects playing this kind of stuff.

Not quite sure about the segue into the blues. The Ray Charles song had its own atmosphere which could have used a nice ending (and THEN you could blast off into the blues while the audience is still clapping and going berserk).

Also, you managed Hard Times well without a drummer. But the blues thing could have used some drums... Otherwise there's a tendency to end up following the clappers in the audience. The groove kind of fell apart, didn't it. But, like I said, great fun and you sure entertained your audience. Let's hope it's the first of many such great experiences!

Best,
Goose

By the way, I'm fascinated that you play this style of music AND you're into break dancing AND you're a member of Piano forum. We should all be so broad minded!

Wow thanks Goose, I appreciate it. The drums in the song is only a bass and high hat 1 - 2 - 1 - 2 etc. nothing else, the 12 bar could have used some yea...... I think the Bass guitar was what made the audience clap out of time and then they had to get back in haha.

I was slightly nervous during the whole thing, if i was more relaxed I think I would have been able to improvise a bit better, I sort of kept repeating....

We hadnt practiced together for the 12 bar improv..... only a little so I knew when I was to play, and Ewan knew when he was to play.... but the rest sort of all merged together into one thing hehe

I appreciaite your feedback, do u have any recordings of yourself?

thanks

Nothing wrong with repeating yourself. I have to keep telling myself that when I improvise. The natural desire is to play lots of different things. But listeners really want to hear where you are and understand the logic behind what you're playing. This means taking motifs and repeating them, then varying them slightly. Most important thing is time feel.

Don't have any recordings of myself. Would like to get set up so I can make some. I'll be sure to give you a holler when I get something together.

Keep on grooving,
Goose
