Not classical, per se, but you may enjoy!
on: May 24, 2005, 06:54:30 AM
Hello All...

Since this is the audition room, I thought I'd let you all know that I do have mp3s of my playing on my website.  Just click on the "music" tab.  Or go to https://www.erikhelm.com/music.htm

It's not strictly 'classical' music....but I'm sure most of you will recognize and enjoy some of these tunes.

Only bad thing is that they're only 30 second samples...but it'll give you an idea of what my playing is like.  Not trying to spam...but you could get one of my CDs  ;) (not trying to be a shameless self-promoter...just sharing).

Anyways, please let me know what you think!

Thanks, Erik

Hi Erik, this is really nice playing. I checked out Shayna's Theme. I'd be interested in hearing more of your original works!  Note that this board is fairly open (not strictly classical)---I recently posted a boogie track and nobody complained  :)

Wow! I love your playing here and the arrangements that you are using (or are they your own impovs??)

Do you have a book full of standards that you use or do you edit the bad simplified versions and make it more complicated?

My copy of Fly me to the Moon is Ok but doesen't have the complexity restaurant pianist type flair that yours has.

Please Help.

Hi Nicko...

Thank you for the kind words and compliment on my playing. I almost always write my own arrangements.  At some point I may have downloadable sheet music on my website.  If enough people are interested, I could probably start doing that. :)

Derek...

I'm glad you liked Shayna's Theme.  That piece is really special to me (I wrote it for my girlfriend).  I am working on more orginal stuff in conjuction with my arrangements...new music will be ready soonish  ;)

Thanks for having a listen...and for leaving feedback.
Erik
