Piano Tuners!
on: May 25, 2005, 05:55:55 AM
Hi
I am a piano tuner, Just wondering what other piano tuners play (if they play anything at all) after they have just finished a tuning? Im relatively new at
playing
the piano, only about a year or so, and i dont know what to play unless i busted out an entire peice, but I just want something thats like 30 seconds long, but awsome sounding.
so what do you do?

I used to be a tuner, for 5 years long ago. I always finished with the little Schubert "Sentimental Waltz" in A major. It's bright, cheerful, easy, and short -- and shows the "cleanness" of your tuning.

I try some of Tchaikovsky's First Concerto. The main theme is very grand and the chords show off the brightness of the piano. I also play through scales for eveness.
