Prokofiev Concerti Editions
on: May 26, 2005, 10:28:53 PM
I would like to start work on the Prokofiev 1st concerto, but I'm wondering what the consensus was concerning editions. Any thoughts?

Specifically I'm looking at the Kalmus and the Peters editions. Any preference towards one over the other? Or is there a better edition out there?

I'd go for Peters, personally.

If its between Kalmus and Peters, go peters, but Boosey and Hawkes is good too. Peters is cheaper than B&H usually and just as good an edition. Schirmer is the best bet if you dont want to spend lots of money, and its decent quality, I dont mind it.

Thanks. I'm also ordering the Kalmus edition of the 3rd concerto... I think I may actually work on that one instead. The B&H was pretty expensive comparatively. I just wish I was back home where the good music stores are so I could look at them all first...
Thanks a bunch, though!
