I need a Summer 'Mood' Piece to Play
on: May 27, 2005, 11:38:57 AM
Hello Everyone.

Where i live (In England) it has just started getting really warm today and it mad me think about things. Does anyone know of a piece from any genre that can feel good playing it in the warmth of summer.
I can already play summertime by Gershwin so don't suggest that.

Thanks Everyone

Godowsky's music usually reminds me of exactly that. That's why I love to listen to it in the morning on a sunny day.

Listen to the Waltzs in particular.

I suggest Dave Brubeck's "Summer Song", which he wrote out as a full solo. It's a beautiful piece but, like all Brubeck, not easy to play well.

Medtner Fairy Tales op 26, esp the first mvt.  It's the essence of summer.
