Are you suffering from any of these?

Tendonitis (inflammation in tendons) and RSI (Repetitive strain injury) is common piano injuries amongst many pianists all over the world and is because of overuse, disuse or abuse. Practicing for long periods at once or repeting a movement over and over can lead to serious damage to tendons and ligaments in your hands. Some of the causes of these injuries are wrong technique, poor posture, bad practice habits as well as an unbalanced lifestyle. Many musicians do not realise the importance of doing warm-ups, stretching and having enough breaks in between their practice sessions.
:) Luckily there are a cure, but the diagnosis of these injuries are complicated. A thorough history and examination is required.
:D If you want to read more on musicians injuries and prevention  you can find it at www.musicians injuries. There are also lots of other websites on musicians wellness.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask?  ;)

I think RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) is a term that includes most of musician injuries, and tendonitis is one type of RSI.

This following page is interesting because the lot of terms it includes:

thought this might fit here better...

I practice 4-6 hrs a day but recently pinched a nerve I think in my left pinky finger. Its tingly, twitches slightly and hurts a little but seems to be getting better since I have gave that hand a rest. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? If so how can I prevent it in the future, its already set me back a day.

Last week, my number 2 finger on my left hand was hurting right about my nail, and it was wierd because I didn't hurt it anywhere, it was just hurting.   :-/

I am going to use this as an opportunity to say, LEARN PROPER TECHNIQUE!!!!!!!!!! I developed tendonitis a while back from playing baseball. IT SUCKS!!!! You can't do anything with your arm for what seems like an eternity. I spent my last piano lesson working entirely on technique to prevent the reoccurence of tendontitis.
