practicing on my own?
on: June 11, 2003, 07:22:06 PM
I have been dormant from even touching the piano for...9 months now. My former teacher had to get surgery for one month and I just fell out of playing the piano. Now that it's summer, I was wondering on everyone's opinion if I could learn songs on my own. Such as Richard Clayderman's mariage damour or other songs of that caliber.

OK, if Richard Clayderman kind of playing is what you want, I guess practicing on your own could be correct.
Now, if you want to aim for deeper playing and repertoire than his, get a good instructor, cause it's very easy to develop dangerous habits that will ruin your playing.
