MusicalSelections.com welcomes submissions!
on: June 01, 2005, 10:07:07 PM
MusicalSelections.com is a new website designed to provide free recordings from advanced musicians.  To avoid the copyright problems frequently associated with online music, all music must be in the public domain, and the recordings (mp3) should be submitted by the performers, with the full permission of the copyright holder (if applicable).

If you are an advanced musician and would like to submit recordings of your music to be made available to others, MusicalSelections.com welcomes your submissions.

All recordings are subject to approval before being placed on MusicalSelections.com.  This is to ensure that music students will not be listening to poor performances.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions!  You can find out more details, and a submission form at our site, https://www.musicalselections.com.

I'm sorry, did you just steal the idea from whitekeys.com?

Actually, I had not ever heard of whitekeys.com until just now.  A unique feature of MusicalSelections.com, however, is the inclusion of church music (hymn arrangements).  I only knew of the Classical Archives, but MusicalSelections will not accept MIDI files, only high-quality MP3 recordings.

Thank you for letting me know about whitekeys.com!  I did not know of them, but it is similar.

Looks virtually identical to that and actually moreso to pianosociety. But can you actually do anything about it, MT?

Actually MT's concept is new inasmuch one considers simply the quality of recordings available.

...nvm

(note- I'd put "from wikipedia.com" at the top/bottom of all your composer bios- at first glance you totally look like a plagerist- the only place you mention the source of your bios is the composer page which is currently only accessible from your front page).
[lau] 10:01 pm: like in 10/4 i think those little slurs everywhere are pointless for the music, but I understand if it was for improving technique

Thank you, Mozartian!  I had forgotten to add the link back to Wikipedia on all the bio pages.

Thank you for your responses!  In response to other replies, it is true that there are other music sites.  There are so many valid recordings, however, and I believe that many students could benefit from hearing other recordings.

MusicalSelections.com is not only for piano music, but for any instrument (within reason).

Any other suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
