Puccini or Wagner? Italians or Germans?
on: June 06, 2005, 03:44:06 AM
I am Italian, so I like Puccini. But, I would like to hear what the rest of yall have to say. Please put your favorite opera of all time in a quote. Mine is, of course, La Boheme.

Can't one like both? ::) Both Puccini and Wagner are great, albeit quite different. Just don't get me started on Verdi! ;D

Myself, I voted for the Italians (though both are VERY good. I like Mozart too. Die Zauberfloete is a lovely work.)

My favourite Italian opera has got to be either La Boheme or Tosca.

*thinks*

Wait... I think Tosca is a winner.

Tosca is okay, I heard it sung last year with Kallen Esperian as Tosca: she is perhaps the greatest sopranos still singing;she won the pavarotti award, but this still did not convince me that it was as good as La Boheme or Turandot.
