I sometimes play organ... but I would like to studied violin - it's beautiful singing instrument almost like a piano...
The piano is an orchestra with 88...... things, you know.

I play violin.  Currently working on Bach Partita 2 movement one.  It's hella harder than the piano at this point.  It should get easier.
I want an Integra.  1994-2001.   GSR.  If you see one, let me know.

i play a little organ music, but am still quite unsteady with the pedals (have to look down at my feet sometimes).  it's quite sensuous to feel all the pedals with your feet (heels on 'white' pedals, toes on 'black').  and, if you practice enough, you can start guessing the jumps better.  what's really hard is if you are playing mostly on the right and your feet are on the left.  has anyone slipped sideways and completely fell over?  what is the worst thing that can happen when you try to play another instrument that is not your primary one?  (perhaps, people knowing it's not your primary instrument and saying 'that was nice' in a sort of condescending way.  or, you go into lord and taylors in philly and hear awsome organ music cascading down 3-4 floors and then realize the guy is blind and has recently taken up playing the organ (not true, but guessing from his lack of music on the stand, and fabulous extemporizing).
do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

re: the organ question, I personally don't tip sideways, but I SLIDE FORWARD!  I mean, it's actually a big problem.  I have certain clothes that are less slippery than others, and obviously, I wear those now to play, but honestly, every organist I've ever asked about this has NO idea what I'm talking about.  They say that using the pedals keeps you in place or something, and I play with pedals constantly but do not stay in place.  How can that be???  Anyway...

Hamfest, I love this question, but did you know there's a current thread on this in the instruments section?  Cheers.
