the latest finished composition from Noamkrief
on: June 07, 2005, 06:17:27 PM
I'm not so sure about the arrangements. It's sort of a rough draft right now. I might mix up the sections a little bit but you'll get the main idea...

It's an mp3 made out of midi. I'm not about to learn this one anytime soon. Too hard for me.

PS - this is one of my favorite peices I have written yet. (I play little sections on it on the piano - trust me it sounds way way better than this midi)

Noam

here are some problem areas as far as hard to play:

Wow this is really good man...I love it. I hope I get that good at composition eventually. There's so much detail in your work. I love how well you've picked up traditional harmonic progressions and modulations---thats one of my goals, pick up as much traditional stuff as possible

by the way I'm nearing completion of my nocturne due to popular request  ;)

Wow?!

That's excellent, I'm waiting for a recording on piano of this... But the midi already sounds really cool. Only misses a bit of diversity or lenght but its far exceeding anything I could ever even imagine (And thats imagining, not imagining and findind which notes I heard in my head)

How do you do that? I've been wanting to start composing something for the longuest time and I've never been able to. I'm still kind of advanced in piano (14 years) but not enough in harmonics classes, would I need to take more classes?

probably... I've never had any music education. I can tell the diff between a minor and major scale but that's about it.

Did you hear my other piano peices happyface94? I recorded those on an actual piano.

So you compose with only having taken piano courses? (how much year btw)  I'm going to listen to your other compositions now.

At 14 I started playing again on my own (no lessons or teacher)...
I'm 23 now.
Not very facinating I know :)

I like all your compositions, they're very listenable and you've convinced me to go back to my partition papers and start cracking.

I wanna start with something easy (Rather than my last attemp, which was a fugue). What type would you suggest?

I think it will sound alot better played slower. Like andante or something. But then you have to edit some stuff out to adjust it to the speed.
