This post was brought on by my reading some entries in a private journal I have been keeping over the past few years.

for a brief fleeting moment, i thought about the possibility that answering this poll would prove me insane (i mean who can tell if they are insane, when they answer a poll saying they're sane?) but, deciding i have full use of my mental facility - and praying to God to help my mental outlook - i voted sane.  if you feel pain you are probably sane. (hey this rhymes).  i think people that opt out by taking drugs, becoming careless about their life, not having joy - that's starting down the path of insane imo.

not to say that for those that voted insane on this poll, that they are joking and are just expressing the 'artiste' different path, different approach to their artistic endeavors.  there are some idiosyncracies of artists that make them 'appear' insane to others who want to see them approach music in the same way that they do.  viva la difference!

actually an insane person would say s/he's sane he'd never say s/he's insane because, mostly, s/he doesn't know he's insane.

persons that say we are insane are actually begging for attention.



so most forum members are actually insane consedring that most of them chose sane.

when you don't understand your own behavior is when you are insane, too!  there have been brief moments in my life (extremely angry - throwing cereal box down on the floor and stepping on it - complaining about being a maid picking up everything) where i rant - but usually it's the other way around (putting up with and trying to understand my children's behaviors).  children do mimic a lot, so if you have a behavior problem - it's most likely to be exaggerated and produced over again right before you (so you can see how it looks/feels).

if you want a complete analysis, just go ask a child that knows you.

I'm certifiable.....honestly wouldn't want it any other way.  Sanity is overrated.

Although I must admit, I think the real sane ppl are kept in psychiatric wards whereas the true psychos wander around freely.

I thought I was insane, but then I worked in a mental hospital the summer between my sophomore and junior years at university.  Found out in short order that I'm totally sane...excentric maybe but totally sane.

The definition that I quoted for insanity implies that a person will continue to make certain decisions that lead to certain results yet continually complain about the results they're getting without changing their behavior.  I can have a tendency to do this, i.e. complaining about being overweight amidst a mouthfull of greasy cheeseburger. Thus I pleaded insanity on those grounds.

You see, I really am not a wannabe, according to the definition I am certifiable.  According to other definitions I'm probably boringly sane.  Though I am wandering around freely so according to your observations I might be insane too.

  Funny you should ask.  I get questions like this all the time.


How do I reply?

(with a friendly smile and chuckle) "Yes, of course, we are sane." 

(then a little more serious) "We are very, very sane."

(followed by a stare that lasts a little too long) "... so very sane."

(follwed by another odd, unblinking stare)


(finally looking away to the floor, more thoughtful this time) "Least that's what Mother tells us when she lets us out.."


 



Better yet, when (not if )... when someone asks you if you're sane, you should say "yes" and then show them the paperwork that proves it.

I'm normal not like weird, but I come up with insane ideas (insanely good ) but ya I find I think alot differently than my friends, I don't act differently, it's weird I guess I'm half/half...
