To end my misery. ??? ::) >:(
You need more than a piano, two hands and a brain to play music.  You also need hot sauce.

Some ppl think death is the start of a new life, aka afterlife, or also aka being born as someone else...Everyone has their own meaning of death.

Here are my views:

As a pessimist... >:( :( :-[ :'(

Life is UNFAIR for we are born WITHOUT wanting to be born and likewise die WITHOUT wanting to die (except at least for suicide).  In other words, we did not choose both life and death so what's the point of living and dying?  NONE.  Both life and death has no meaning and thus, everything in this world has NO meaning; in fact, this MEANINGLESS is the one and only thing MEANINGFUL...

As an optimist... :) ;) :D ;D

Death is MORE meaningful than life simply because the former is eternal while everything in the latter is temporal.  But eternity is either heaven or hell and the former is only possible with GOD; otherwise, you choose the latter.  I would definitely go for the former.

(BTW, I've learned that it's IMPOSSIBLE to be an optimist and atheist at the same time - at least from my experience.  ;) From what I know, athetists believe the Materialist theory of evolution which explains human death as meaningless as decomposing and decaying into organic matter and organisms.  ::)

not quite answering the question given in the title of the thread, but something I find undoubtably true:

"In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes."
- Benjamin Franklin
Music, even in situations of the greatest horror, should never be painful to the ear but should flatter and charm it, and thereby always remain music."
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
