xx Playing right now Invention no 14 from Bach...
September 15, 2008, 03:48:09 AM by deshaiesm

Allo everyone,

I am new on that forum. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Actually, I am back to piano after 8 years. I have a new teacher and according to his programm in Canada and my level, I will have to play a piece from bach. I chose Invention no 14 that I found quiet nice. I analysed and I listened to it quiet often before I started to playing it. Now, that I can see more the feeling, I am wondering wich kind of exercices should I do to help with that piece. I saw the tips of Bernard and I found it great. Therefore, I am looking for exercices that will accelrate my learning of that piece. Any suggestion will be appreciate or any comments on that piece... I won't change it so don't discourage me... ;-) Thanks !

xx Help With 2-Part Invention in Bb
March 02, 2005, 12:12:29 PM by fuel925

One of my exam pieces for Grade 6 VCM is Bach's 2-Part Invention in Bb. I can play it fine, and at speed, but the only niggling thing now is that in bars 14 15 and 16 where there is constant semiquavers and demisemiquavers in both hands, I have a bit of trouble getting these notes completely together, i.e the notes on both hands have to come exactly together. I find it difficult to get this perfect, especially at speed. Can you provide any tips that could help me with this?

"I was in Poland the past summer to give 2 concerts. At the last minute they requested some Chopin, which I had not brought with me. So, I google-searched for classical downloads and found your site. I was able to print out excellent editions of the pieces I needed within minutes. To find the scores locally would have been inpossible as it was a smaller town, the nearest music store 45 minutes away."

"Piano Street has been a wonderful tool to me as both a pianist and a piano teacher. I can browse the collection for pieces I want to play and/or have my students play. The difficulty rating system that Piano Street uses enables me to search by difficulty level for pieces at my students' various playing levels. It is helpful that many of the scores include an audio clip of the piece being played. I have recommended to my advanced students that they also join Piano Street since getting sheet music from there is a much less expensive alternative to ordering and paying for the music.
