Pianist Daniil Trifonov in a fascinating profile by Christopher Nupen

November 30th, 2015 in Piano News by | 4 comments

“What he does with his hands is technically incredible – and then there is his touch – so gifted with tenderness and, at the same time, he has the demonic element. I have never heard anything like this before.”
Martha Argerich

A new double-DVD release contains two films by Christopher Nupen about the brilliant young pianist Daniil Trifonov: ‘The Magics of Music’ and ‘The Castelfranco Veneto Recital’. The clip above is taken from ‘The Magics of Music’ with kind permission of Christopher Nupen and Allegro Films.
The films have won two international prizes, Silver Medal at the New York Film and Television Festival and the Accolade Award. Together they give an intimate portrait of the artist both on and off the stage.

The DVD is available at amazon.com
